This fall, we are excited to add another musical opportunity to our extensive music ministry – the St. Nicholas Choir for Girls and Boys, Kindergarten-3 rd Grade. This new choir will foster a foundational musical literacy for these children – exploring their voices in new ways, looking at music for the first time (dovetailing nicely with reading skills), and joining in song with others who love to sing! In addition, they’ll learn why we sing in church and offer our voices in praise of God.
Wanda Laux Adcock will lead the choir. Wanda operates StudioLaux, where she maintains a busy schedule of teaching piano and voice. An experienced children’s choir director, she most recently led the youth & children’s choir at All Saints Episcopal Church in Lakeland, Florida before relocating to Richmond. She can also be seen singing in All Saints Parish Choir.
The only requirement for joining is a commitment to the rehearsal schedule, which is 45 minutes a week, Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:15 PM in All Saints Chapel. No prior musical experience needed, nor is the ability to read words. Our first rehearsal will be Thursday, September 26.
